The beginning had to start somewhere and it did with Ruth Babe Holdrige and Glenn Forest Minard in 1918.
GFM Jr. was born in Truckee California in June of 1921. His sister Joyce came a couple years later in May of 1922. During the early teen years of my dad and Joyce, they lived with his family in Alturas California. It was there the families of Minards' and Hagermans' met.
My mom, Pearl has her hand up on the horses neck and my dad, Glenn is standing beside her. Both families ultimately moved to central California to the Sacramento area, specifically Roseville.
While there my dad went to a military academy. When at age 16 my dad joined the Marines by lying about his age, was caught, and thrown out! After begging his mom Ruth, my grandma, she finally signed for him and he joined the Navy in 1939 at age 17.
